Anika Christopher is a 23-year-old writer, journalist and author of the picture books “Planting Peace” and “Anansi and the Green Sea Turtles”. She teaches English as an adjunct lecturer at H. Lavity Stoutt Community College in the Virgin Islands. She writes for both children and young adults. She was recently selected for a place in a writing residency called “The Rock Retreat” in Gibraltar, United Kingdom where she worked with internationally acclaimed writers in the world of children’s publishing. She also recently received a creative opportunity to work as a poet in collaboration with the Commonwealth Games and Birmingham Festival 2022. 

She believes that words can change the world and uses them to empower others through her job as a Literary Arts Officer where she leads programmes such as the Writing with Writers Workshops and BVI Literary Festival here in the Virgin Islands.
